ABOUT COORJC
Built From the Trails Up
The story of the Central Ontario Off Road Jeep Club (COORJC) began in 2015 when Mark Sims purchased his first Jeep—a Dozer Yellow two-door Wrangler. Quickly realizing the risks of off-roading alone, he created a Facebook page with the humble hope of meeting five or six local enthusiasts to ride with.
What started as a search for five or six partners grew so rapidly that it led to the formal founding of the club on April 23, 2017, with a core group of six enthusiasts from various clubs across the province who shared a common vision: to create a club that felt like a community, based right in the heart of Ontario’s best wheeling terrain.
What began as a small circle of friends has since grown into a thriving community of Jeepers from across the province. This growth has allowed us to expand our reach from the 5 Points Trail System all the way to Minden and Bancroft, while maintaining the same “small club” welcoming feel that we started with on day one. To support this growth and protect our members' future, COORJC officially became an Incorporated Not-for-Profit in 2025, cementing our place as a professional leader in the Ontario off-road community.

Not an "Extreme" Club:
We are often asked about our driving style. The answer is simple: We are a club for Jeepers who love their rigs. Our vehicles are more than just toys; for most of us, they are our daily drivers.
We prioritize smart lines, expert spotting, and vehicle longevity because we know these rigs need to get us to work on Monday morning. We enjoy a technical challenge and never shy away from a difficult line, but we do not intentionally go out to break or abuse anything. We believe in wheeling with skill, not ego.
Sustainability & Respect: Tread Lightly:
At COORJC, we "Tread Lightly" on the environment, our rigs, and ourselves. We don’t just use the trails; we protect them. We take immense pride in our reputation for environmental stewardship and our active role in the OF4WD Adopt-a-Trail Program, maintaining the Gooderham,Pencil Lake and Jack’s Lake trails.
Beyond maintenance,COORJC boasts the most active jeep trail development team in the province. We work hand-in-hand with the OF4WD to scout, map and expand the trail index, ensuring that Central Ontario trail systems remain sustainable, legal and growing for years to come.
